Question:
Which all around shock would you recommend for my 4
Door Dodge 2005 Durango 4 Wheel Drive with a Hemi Engine? I am a normal
driver with ocassional off road driving and I tow a trailer. I cannot
decide between Edelbrock, Bilstein or Rancho. Thank you.
Answer:
The Bilstein and Edelbrock are performance products, monotube shock designs.
Either one will do well. Especially at highway speeds and while towing.
The Edelbrocks have a valving more suited for passenger use, if you drive passengers a lot. Those are popular with Durangos (Explorers, Tahoes, etc vehicles).

The Ranchos are a twin tube low pressure design, like the OE shocks on the vehicle now.
