Question: Hellow I’m very interested in several shocks offerd by Bilstein & have visited their sight as well & am unable to findout what the #s mean @ the end of products #s listed below & the shocks valving.also the type of mounting ends as well as the EXT/Col Lengths.

BE-6458-H5 or T5

Answer: Both the H5 and T5 versions of those shocks are designed only to be installed on the OEM mounting points if you’ve done any customization to the shock mounts they won’t work. The H5 pair is designed to work with 3″ to 5″ of suspension lift, while the T5 versions are only for spring over lifts. The shocks are the same lengths, but they are valved differently so that they perform correctly for the type of lift that was done.

Question: I would like to buy a set of Rancho 5000 shocks as an upgrade for offroading and daily use. Do you have any for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 door?

Answer: Rancho makes both an RS5000 and an RS9000X shock for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK. The RS5000 is designed to be a basic OEM replacement shock while the RS9000X is a heavy duty 9-way adjustable shock that can be dialed in for highway control, offroading, towing or comfort. You can see both of those parts here:

Model: Jeep Liberty
Year: 2002
Chassis Designation: 4×4
What is your driving style: Normal Driver
Vehicle Setup: Four Wheel Drive
Suspension Type: Regular Shocks or Struts

Question: Hi- I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Renegade 6 cyl. & tow either a camper or boat- 3,000 or 4,000 lbs. The shocks need replacing & I want heavier support in the raar, as it sags. I drive off road once in a while, but not enough to want a lift kit. What do you recommend that isn’t too expensive??

Answer: The best shocks we have for your Liberty are the Bilstein Heavy Dutys, they are high pressure monotube shocks and are specifically valved to give you more control for towing or light offroading. You can see those here:
Front -
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/485131/name/F4-BE5-D916-HO-Bilstein-Dodge-Nitro-and-Jeep-Liberty
Rear -
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/485135/name/F4-BE5-D917-HO-Bilstein-Dodge-Nitro-and-Jeep-Liberty
If your Liberty is sagging under the load of your trailer, the best way to fix this is with an air spring system. We have an Airlift 1000 air spring that will give you about 1,000 extra pounds of leveling support, and the great part of an air spring is that when you aren’t towing or hauling a heavy load, you can deflate it and it won’t affect your ride quality at all.
You can see that here:

I am looking for some heavy duty load leveling shocks. I carry tools in the rear of my vehicle all the time.

Answer:

We don’t have any shocks designed to carry a load for your Grand Cherokee, but we do carry an airlift 1000 air spring kit that will give you about 1,000 lbs of extra carrying capacity. The airbag kit is better than a traditional air shock or a load leveling shock because it doesn’t put extra stress on the shock mounts. The airlift 1000 comes with a lifetime warranty and is easy to install, you can view the isntallation instructions here:
Question:

I tow a trailer with two jet skis with my 2008 Jeep Liberty and it sags under the load, do you have any airshocks that will lift the SUV back up? I bought the liberty because I work in the city, so I don’t want to have to sell it to buy a bigger SUV.

Answer:

We don’t currently carry any air shocks for your Jeep Liberty, but we do have an airlift 1000 air spring kit. The Airlift 1000 works like an air shock, but is a better solution than a traditional air shock because when it’s not needed and deflated, you still have the standard shocks and springs working to give you a more comfortable ride. You can see that here:
What is your driving style: Normal Driver

Question:

My four door, 4.0 litre jeep does on and off road work, tows a small boat (under 1000 lbs), and transports several people, dogs, and equipment to campsites. I am hoping that the Rancho RS5000 series shocks, parts RS5128 and RS5129, are appropriate for the SPORT edition of the 2000 Cherokee, as I did not see it specified on the compatibility list. I’d appreciate your input.

Answer:

The sport models of Cherokees use the same shocks as stanbdard models, so the Rancho RS500s RS5128 and RS5129 will fit your Jeep and will give you more control than your worn out stock shocks, but if you want to upgrade to give your Jeep more control with all the extra weight you’re towing/hauling, I suggest the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks, they are a high pressure monotube that are valved stiffer than the Ranchos to keep you stable for towing, hauling and light offroading. You can see all of the parts we have for the 2000 Cherokee here:

Answer:

We have Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks designed for your 1980 Jeep CJ7. The Heavy Duty series is Bilstein’s line of high pressure monotube shocks designed to bolt directly in the stock mounting points and will give your Jeep better handling and stability for onroad, towing, hauling and mild offroad use, without being too stiff to daily drive. You can see those here:
1980 Jeep CJ7 Front Shocks – Bilstein Heavy Duty

Bilstein does not offer a steering stabilizer for your Jeep, so you basically have two good options. If your Jeep has a factory steering stabilizer, I recommend the KYB unit here:

If your Jeep doesn’t have a stabilizer and you want to add one, we have a Rancho kit to add a stabilizer:

Answer:
Unfortunately we are unable to cross reference with factory part numbers, you can see all of the parts we carry for the 05 Wrangler here:
For a stock height Jeep, the best shock available is the Bilstein Heavy Duty. The Bilstein Heavy Duty uses a high pressure monotube design to give you control over the vehicle both on and off road. The extruded metal body makes Bilsteins stronger and more durable than a typical welded shock body.

Question:

I use my 2000 Jeep Cherokee as daily driver mostly, with some “light” off road mixed in on occasion – half dozen trips to beach & mountains each year. I am trying to decide if KYB GR2 shocks would be fine or if I should step up to entry/OEM level Bilsteins. Thanks
Answer:

KYB GR2s are a twin tube low pressure design, like the stock Jeep units.

Bilsteins are a monotube Performance unit.

If you want to use a unit that is similar in valving to the original units, the KYB shocks will be fine. If you want better performance, dampening, handling and control, especially at highway speeds, the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks would be the way to go.

All of our shocks for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee are found here:
