Model: 2005 Nissan Frontier 4WD Crew Cab LE

Question: I need to replace the front shocks and the 4 arms since they are worn out. I’m looking for a better than OEM product so I can get better suspension and handling. Maybe also leveling the front with the rear… I’m no expert at it… What do you recommend that would give good performance, way better than factory? I was looking at bilstein products they seem to be the better, you tell me. Thanks for all the info you can provide me with.

Answer: You definitely want the Bilstein 5100 series. These are high pressure monotube shocks that will give you much better performance than the stock shocks, plus they have an adjustable spring perch for up to 2.5 inches of leveling in the front. The rear will also work with up to an inch of added lift in the back. You can see those here:

Question: hey i was looking for coil over with a 2 an a half inch lift.. i know rancho has one and i think u carry them as well as Bilstein.. they are made for the front suspension on the tacoma..

Answer: We have leveling shocks both with and without springs for the Tacoma, The first type will be less expensive and allow you to reuse your factory spring or replace that with another spring down the road. There is an adjustable Biolstein unit that can give you between 0 and 2 inches of lift and a non height-adjustable Rancho that gives about 2 inches of lift. You can see those here:

Answer: Unfortunately that is accurate. The Z71 uses a different spring than the standard Sierra, and Rancho says that the Z71 spring won’t work with the Quicklift. We do sell Bilstein 5100 series height adjustable front shocks for the 2010 Sierra that are designed to work with the Z71.

What is your driving style: Normal Driver

Question:
I’m trying to figure out the differences between the Rancho RS5000 and 9000 as well as the Bilstein Heavy Duty and the 5100s. I do a lot of everyday driving, but I also go off road and do work in my truck. Also it has 295/65/20s and a Truxxx leveling kit. On my old 1/2 ton GMC I ran the old Gabriel coil spring assist rear shocks and their heaviest front shocks. Right now in my current truck I’m getting a lot of axle hop and longer recovery time. Any guidance will be appreciated.

Answer:

The Rancho RS5000 will be a basic OEM replacement shock, while the RS9000 is adjustable for the level of ride comfort / performance that you want. The Bilstein Heavy Duty is a high pressure monotube shock that will give you a firmer, more controlled ride while towing, hauling, offroading, or just highway driving. The 5100 series is a stiffer monotube shock designed to be able to level your truck by lifting the spring seat between 0.5″ and 2″. With a leveling kit already installed, you’ll want to use the Bilstein 5100 shocks, the front is logner than a standard unit to compensate for the suspension lift. You can see those parts here:

Question: I have a 2009 F-150 2WD and want to get rid of the hotrod rake the truck came with from the factory, is there anything you have that will level my truck?

Answer: Bilstein has just released a 5100 series offroad leveling shock for the 2009 & 2010 F-150 2WD. This shock lifts the front of your truck by moving where the springseat sits on the shock and can be adjusted by moving the spring seat when the shock is off the truck. This leveling shock is designed to work with any cab and bed configuration, and is adjustable to ensure that your truck sits where you like it.

Question

I have a 2010 Nissan Frontier, LE 4×4, LWB, Crew Cab. I would like to change the set of OEM shocks. I am after shocks that will suit all types of road conditions. I am going to be using the truck on bad roads and occasionally go into the forest/off road. What Shocks are best suited for offroading in a 2010 Nissan Frontier.

Answer:
The best shocks we have for your truck for rough roads and light offroading will be the Bilstein 5100 series. These shocks are specifically designed to give you the most control possible offroad and will also help your truck handle better on the road. The Bilstein 5100 Series shocks also function as a aleveling kit for the Frontier, and can provide between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of lift by adjusting the spring seat on the unit. You can see those shocks here:

Answer:

Bilstein makes a 5100 series leveling shock for your 2004 F-150. This part is capable of leveling your truck with up to 2 inches of suspension lift and is adjustable by relocating the spring seat on the unit. You can see that part, along with the matching 5100 series rear shock, which will work on a stock height truck or with an inch of lift.
