Answer: We have KYB Monomax shocks, which are high pressure monotube units that will handle offroad conditions much better than your stock units because they are much harder to overheat and are valved for more extreme use.
You can see those here:

Model:1993 Jeep “YJ” Wrangler

What is your driving style: Normal Driver
Vehicle Setup: 4 Wheel Drive
Suspension Type: Raised Suspension or Suspension Lift Kit

Question: Hellow I’m very interested in several shocks offerd by Bilstein & have visited their sight as well & am unable to findout what the #s mean @ the end of products #s listed below & the shocks valving.also the type of mounting ends as well as the EXT/Col Lengths.

BE-6457-H5 or T5
BE-6458-H5 or T5

Answer: Both the H5 and T5 versions of those shocks are designed only to be installed on the OEM mounting points if you’ve done any customization to the shock mounts they won’t work. The H5 pair is designed to work with 3″ to 5″ of suspension lift, while the T5 versions are only for spring over lifts. The shocks are the same lengths, but they are valved differently so that they perform correctly for the type of lift that was done.

I have a 1994 Ford F-250 4WD, IFS, Supercab, Long Bed, 7.5L in a Bilstien. I plan a 4″ lift and this was perhaps recommended Bilstein 5100 shocks. What do you have?

Answer: We actually have Bilsteins designed specifically for your F250 with a 4″ suspension lift. You can see them here:
Front -
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/15022/name/F4-BE5-6245-H5-Bilstein-5100-Offroad-Racing-Unit
Sleeve required for intallation of front shocks -
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm?id=234043

For the rear, you’ll need to find out if your suspension lift is 2 inches (a lot of suspension lifts are also designed to level the truck, so they will lift the front 4″ and the rear 2″ on a 4″ lift kit) or 4-6 inches.
Rear 2″ lift -
Rear 4-6″ lift -

Answer: We carry Bilstein 5100 series shocks for a four inch lifted 91 F150 4wd with quad shocks, and these high pressure monotube Bilsteins will give you better handling both on and off road as well as taking a lot of abuse. These will be a huge upgrade over the cheap shocks you have on now.

Question:

Looking for spring/shock or airshocks to give truck a small lift in rear. Please help me to find.Thank you.

Answer:

We carry a Rancho Add-A-Leaf spring for the 2004 F250 that will give approximately 2-3 inches of extra height in the rear, depending on the condition of your stock springs. This part is installed alongside your factory springs. This is a much better choice than an airshock because it doesn’t put the extra stress of holding the truck up on the shock mounts and allows the shock to do its job, which is dampening the ride rather than supporting the truck. You can see our page for that part here:
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/product.cfm/id/13840/name/RS60642-Rancho-Add-A-Leaf-Spring
And all of the parts for your truck here:

I recommend Bilstein 5100 series shocks to go with your rear lift, you can
see those here:

What is your driving style: Hard Performance Driver
Vehicle Setup: 4 Wheel Drive
Suspension Type: Regular Shocks or Struts

Question:

My truck is a K2500 HD 4 door crew cab. I am looking for a good heavy duty shock I was told by a dealer that the 5100 series would be for front and because I tow a trailer (30ft traveler trailer and a utility trailer for work) that the 6100 series would be for the back. Is this what you would recommend. They say that the truck is stock suspension with a leveler in the front, I would like to raise it up some anywhere from 2″to 4″ and would like your suggestions concerning that as well.

Answer:

The Bilstein 5100 series is the best choice for your truck front and back because it is designed specifically for your truck, rather than being built for generic off-road racing trucks like the 6100 series. The 5100s are a really good choice for towing large trailers and will give you more control and better stability over the truck and trailer than your stock shocks do. For your truck as it sits now, you will want to use either part # F4-BE5-E710-H0 for the front, which is designed for up to 4 inches of leveling if you’ve used the torsion bars to lift the truck, or part # F4-BE5-D146-H0, which is designed for up to 2.5 inches of suspension lift if you have a different sort of leveling kit.

Part # F4-BE5-D147-H0 is the best shock to use for the rear with no lift, but if you plan on lifting the rear of the truck, we have a shock designed for 2 or 4 inches. You can see all of those shocks here:

Question:

My Bronco has HD front springs and a rear AAL for almost 2″ of lift. I am worried about the Bilstein HD shocks (B46-1328 &1329) not having enough length to not limit the travel.

Answer:

The rear Bilstein 5100 offroad shock F4-BE5-6244-h5 is for Broncos with 2-inches of suspension lift in the rear, so that would
be the one you want to use if the lift modification requires a longer shock.

All of our 1995 Bronco shocks are listed here, including the Bilstein 5100 racing shocks.

http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm?mode=results&selected_model=3971&selected_year=1995

The only person who can actually determine how long a shock is needed would be the mechanic modifying the vehicle. (using a tape measure). You could also check with the lift kit company, they will be able to tell you if their kit uses stock length shocks or longer shocks. Their engineers would have determined that for you.
