Answer: The best choice for shocks to improve the handling of a 2005 Mazda 3 are the Bilstein Sport shocks and struts, which are high pressure monotube shocks that are specifically valved for handling performance on the Mazda 3.

Questions (over one weekend): I have a Dodge motor home jamberee. It is a 1979 F40 I can’t find the model any where. i need front and rear shocks. The front shocks have 2 bolts on bottom and 1 nut on top. The rears have 1 big bolt top and bottom. Do you have a # for me I need a picture of the shock to match up.

Second question more info I have a 1979 van type class c motor home. f40 I found the bilstien Shock # f4-b46-0925-HO It looks like the correct shock. Is Monroe # 555037 front and 555038 rear a good shock for the truck. the front axle wt. is 3660 lb. The total GVW is 10600. I hope you can steer me in the right direction.

This is my third email on the dogde moter home F40 I have more info. The front shock is the type for the b350 but the size is 18″
extended from tip to tip 13″ at its smallest. The rear is 22″ extended and15″ at its smallest. The rear has a bolt to hold it top and bottom. Looks like the shock for the B350. Waiting for help before I buy.

Answer:

It looks like The Monroe Gasmagnum part number 555038 will fit your RV in the rear, it has a collapsed length of 12.875″ and an expanded of 21″. The 555037 has a collapsed length of 10.125″ and an expanded of 15.625″, BUT it sounds like you might be measuring different than monroe is, they measure shocks from the center of the eyelet to the BASE of the stud, not the tip, which may mean that your measurement was a couple inches longer than theirs and the 555037 might fit. You can see the technical sheet for those shocks, along with the exact measurements of the mounting points, here:
http://www.monroe.com/catalog/documents/08_MountingLengthSheet.pdf

Answer: The hard top Suzuki Samurai uses the same suspension and shocks as the soft top. Do you have any lift on your Samurai? If not, your best bet is going to be the KYB gasajust monotube shocks, which will give you the best control and handling possible on the samurai. You can see those here:

Question:

I’m looking for some basic replacement shocks for my 2000 Chrysler Town & Country. It is a 3.8 liter LXI with 95,000 miles. Thank you. Is the Monroe Sensatrac any good?

Answer:

The Monroe Sensatrac is a very good shock, it’s designed to be a direct OEM replacement, and will give you a soft, comfortable ride like the shocks that came stock on your Chrysler Town and Country. The price for a full set of Sansatrac shocks and struts for your minivan
you can see those here:

Please note that these shocks are not designed to replace the auto leveling rear suspension with nivomats, if your minivan has those, you’ll need to use the Monroe Nivomats, which can be seen here:
What is your driving style: Normal Driver
Vehicle Setup: 4 Wheel Drive
Suspension Type: Regular Shocks or Struts

Question:

My four door, 4.0 litre jeep does on and off road work, tows a small boat (under 1000 lbs), and transports several people, dogs, and equipment to campsites. I am hoping that the Rancho RS5000 series shocks, parts RS5128 and RS5129, are appropriate for the SPORT edition of the 2000 Cherokee, as I did not see it specified on the compatibility list. I’d appreciate your input.

Answer:

The sport models of Cherokees use the same shocks as stanbdard models, so the Rancho RS500s RS5128 and RS5129 will fit your Jeep and will give you more control than your worn out stock shocks, but if you want to upgrade to give your Jeep more control with all the extra weight you’re towing/hauling, I suggest the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks, they are a high pressure monotube that are valved stiffer than the Ranchos to keep you stable for towing, hauling and light offroading. You can see all of the parts we have for the 2000 Cherokee here:

Answer:
Bilstein makes a front shock for your truck, but doesn’t have a rear shock right now. We do have a couple options for high quality rear shocks that will pair well with the Bilsteins. The KYB Gasajust is a softer, less expensive monotube shock that will be more suited to relaxed driving. The Edelbrock IAS Classic is a stiffer, more performance oriented shock that will give you the best handling. Both of those shocks are high pressure monotubes that will give your truck much better handling than a factory style twin tube shock would.

Answer:
We have two options for replacement rear shocks on your Honda Pilot. The Monroe Sensatrac and KYB GR2 are both designed to be direct OEM replacements that will restore stability and control to your truck. The Monroe Sensatrac is generally valved softer than the KYB GR2, so if you want to have a little bit more control over your Pilot, the GR2 will give you a small upgrade. You can see those here:

Answer:

We have Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts built for your Focus, they are good quality twin-tube units like the ones that came with your car from the factory. You can see those here:

You may also want to replace your factory upper strut mounts while you have the strut and spring off of the car, you can see those here:

Answer:
There is no fitment issue with using a standard shock on a Z71 model truck, Monroe doesn’t advise it because it won’t restore your handling to the same level it was from the factory. The Z71 package came with high pressure monotube shocks for offroading, so if you want to restore the factory ride you’ll need an equivalent shock. Using a low pressure twin tube shock like the sensatrac will give you a ride similar to the standard 1500 pickups.
