I have installed the Bilstein HD on my 2007 Mazdaspeed3. I should have gone with the Sport Series because the HD's shaft is 1/2 inch longer than stock. Sport Series would have been identical to stock. I don't feel a difference in ride quality and think the HD works, but the Sport Series is the one for the Speed3 because it is lower than the regular Mazda3.
The Bilsteing shock itself is thicker and better quality than stock. It installs without issue.

hey guys, thats good info. I was wondering what kind of shock or system would be good for me for the opposite? I don't use my E250 like I use to, no more towing or hauling. Its basicly a daily driver and lovin it, a '95. How can I smooth out the ride? 14,000 miles ago I replaced the shocks with monroe sensatracs, i'll tell you what, the ride was nice for a few months. So those are the current shocks. Any advice would be great. thanks

Just a way late comment, if you replace your electronic struts with regular you will disable the ABS and Traction Control systems. Better off finding a friend who can work on cars to replace them and spend the extra ching on the electronic struts, the ride is so much better with working electronic struts over regular suspension.

I know this because I looked at converting my moms ES300 with adaptive suspension and it wasn't really possible.
